Bushfire erosion video series

The bushfires in our region in early 2020 have had many impacts. One of these is soil erosion, which can have a devastating effect on the landscape. To help land managers deal with erosion after fires, Murray and Riverina Local Land Services have collaborated with Soil Conservation Service, North East Catchment Management Authority and Agriculture Victoria to prepare three short, informative videos.

Landscape-scale erosion

This video explains how bushfires can contribute to erosion, what the drivers of erosion are, and the types of soil erosion.

Farm-scale erosion

This video talks about how erosion after a fire can impact your farm and the importance of prioritising small-scale erosion works.

Small-scale erosion

This video outlines some methods for the control of small-scale farm erosion, including the types of materials that can be used.
