Riverbank Rehabilitation Project

The Riverbank Rehabilitation Project is delivering targeted riverbank and waterway rehabilitation works at identified sites across 11 catchments in NSW, including the:

  • Tweed
  • Brunswick
  • Richmond
  • Clarence
  • Bellingen
  • Nambucca
  • Macleay
  • Hastings
  • Manning
  • Hunter
  • Hawkesbury.

What will the project do?

The project aims to reduce the impact of future flooding by:

  • undertaking targeted riverbank rehabilitation works focused on protecting areas of high agricultural, cultural and environmental value
  • providing land managers within target catchments with support and advice about riverbank and waterway management.

The Riverbank Rehabilitation Project is jointly funded by the Australian and NSW governments under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
