Reconnecting River Country Program

The Reconnecting River Country Program aims to improve wetland and floodplain connectivity and health of Country by striking a balance between economic, social, cultural and environmental outcomes across southern NSW.

The program focuses on relaxing or removing some of the constraints (i.e. policy, physical or operational barriers) limiting the delivery of water for the environment across the southern-connected Murray-Darling Basin.

Local Land Services is supporting the Department of Planning and Environment’s Water Infrastructure NSW team to deliver the program, working closely with private landholders and communities to gather feedback and incorporate it in the development and implementation of the program.
