Environmental Markets Leadership Program NSW

Are you a land manager or farmer who wants to be rewarded for your natural capital protection and environmental stewardship activities?

Do you plant trees, invest in your soil, rehabilitate your waterways, or provide habitat for wildlife on your property?

Do you want to learn from others who are making natural capital and environmental markets part of their farming business and property management?

Local Land Services and Ethical Fields are seeking applications seeking applications for a new program aimed at simplifying the world of natural capital and environmental markets.

The Environmental Markets Leadership Program supports land managers and farmers to identify, market and benefit from the natural capital and environmental services they provide to society through sustainable land management. The program will provide you with the skills, confidence and networks for you to achieve a return from sustainable land and natural resource management.

The program will commence in September 2022 and will be delivered online through interactive and case-based learning and networking over a period of 2 years.

What’s included?

Environmental Markets Leadership Network

Be part of a supportive network of peers from your region and across NSW – share resources, knowledge, experience, challenges and successes through online social networking and facilitated network meet-ups every 3 months.

Development program

Complete a practical, hands-on online learning program where you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to identify, market and benefit from the natural capital, ecosystem services and environmental services you generate and provide to society. The program provides simple information on what’s involved, what’s good to know before hand and how you can get started.

Environmental markets plan

Develop an environmental markets plan for your property and/or farm: identify natural capital, ecosystem services and environmental services on your property, identify and assess market opportunities and plan a path forward. Share and learn from peers creating their own plan alongside you.

Market meet-ups and workshops

Meet market stakeholders and understand what role they play, such as buyers, funders, assessors, certifiers, government agencies. Work with these stakeholders to explore existing, future and/or innovative markets opportunities and influence policy and regulation to be more supportive, certain and predictable.

While applications for the NSW Environmental Markets Leadership Program closed on 29 August 2022, the EMLP team are taking expressions of interest for future participants. If you missed out and would like to be involved in future, visit the program website.

This program is funded by the NSW Government’s Environmental Trust.
