Jackson, James - Brushy Creek

Candidate employment or volunteer experience

I am a veterinarian with experience in disease management and animal welfare. I have had several roles including, on the writing group for the Sheep Welfare Standards, the NSW footrot steering committee, the national OJD steering committee, the writing group for the Sheep Health Statement, and the Sheep industry strategic plan. I have chaired the combined Animal Health and Welfare committee for Wool Producers and Sheepmeat Council. I have chaired the NSW Farmers Sheepmeat committee and the NSW Farmers Welfare committee. More recently I have chaired the board of NSW farmers as the president. Currently I’m on the NSW Farmers wool committee. I also run a fine wool and cattle enterprise at Guyra.

Registered Veterinarian since 1983 Wool classer Member NSW Farmers Foot and Mouth government training in Nepal.

I rate myself as a strategic planner. I have been involved in 2 strategic plans that drove change within the organisations….they were not just put in the bottom draw.


Marcus, Alana - Sapphire

Candidate employment or volunteer experience

Having worked for local government and the government education sector in previous roles, I have experience in strategic planning, budget management, resource management and community engagement. I currently work for TAFE NSW and the Operations Manager of HR across the state. Which delivers strategic projects to enhance the educational experience of students. I manage a 120 million dollar departmental budget. I have worked in senior management positions that develop implement and review strategic plans. While ensure projects and delivered on-time and within budget. Having moved regionally in the last 4 years to a property near Inverell. I have been working as a primary producer with beef cattle and fire wood collection through a small scale harvesting permit. I am looking for a way to give back to my community and believe my experience will allow me to be an effective board member.

I have a bachelor degree in Commerce with a double major in management and human resources. I also have a Master in Strategic Human Resources (distinction) I have a diploma of Youth Welfare. I am a member of AHRI- Australian Human Resource Institute.

Additional information

Throughout my career I have worked within health and safety, which has provided me with exposure to emergency management. Whilst working as a primary producer I have gain experience in natural resource management, pest and weed management and biosecurity. In my previous role as Head of HR and Safety of a heavy engineering and construction firm, I was obtained AS4801:2001(WHS) accreditation. This has provided me with experience in managing risks and auditing. Working for TAFE NSW has provided me with experience in working with Industry and other government organisations to achieve strategic objectives. My current role requires financial and project reporting. I also engage with Aboriginal groups to enhance our practices and procedures within the department. I have lead the team that developed the Aboriginal Engagement Strategy and 5 year people strategy for TAFE NSW.


Bowler, Stephen - Tenterfield

Former paid employee of the NSW Shooters, Fishers and Farmers party, now currently running a firearms shop in Tenterfield NSW. Owner of rural property, keen angler, hunter and farmer. Experience in the political arena, timber industry, etc.

Additional information

For the past decade I have had what could probably be best described as my “Dream Job” working full time for the Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party. I have been in the fortunate position of representing the interests of Australian Farmers, Firearms Owners, and Outdoors Orientated people. I have travelled extensively throughout NSW, Southern Qld and Victoria and have been liaising with every firearm, fishing, camping and farming businesses in those regions for all that time. I have a knowledge base of the primary industries and related politics that is second to none. I know the needs and desires of the sector and its consumers intimately.


Morse, Angelica - Kingstown

Angelica is an individual who has a great passion for the agriculture industry. She has accumulated vast experience and knowledge in this field through various roles on an olive farm and jointly managing a wool and beef cattle enterprise with her husband in Kingstown. Angelica has held several positions including Business Development Manager for an olive farm in Victoria and Investment Executive and Analyst for various funds in California.
