New faces on the South East board

June 2020

Allison Harker, Chair of the board

I hope this finds you well and that you and your families are managing through these rather extraordinary times. I wanted to take this opportunity to provide you with an update on the recent changes to the South East Local Land Services board.

Last month, two members completed their term on the board.  I would like to thank Mac Wilson (Grabben Gullen) and Stuart Burge (Numeralla) for their service to the board, staff and communities of the South East. Mac and Stuart were both foundation members and played an important role in establishing Local Land Services in the South East. We wish them well for the future.

As Mac and Stuart leave us we are joined by two new members, Robert Ingram (Delegate) and Nigel Baines (Gunning). Both Robert and Nigel have a strong connection to the South East and I and the rest of the board welcome and look forward to working with them.

It has been thoroughly rewarding to be able to serve South East communities as Acting Chair for the past 18 months through what have been difficult times. In March, I was formally appointed as Chair for the next four years and look forward to continuing our work together.

As we head into the new financial year the priorities of the board will include assisting the South East Communities to emerge from the challenges of the past 6 months. We will be focused on working with the South East communities to enhance and execute our biosecurity, weed, pest and natural resource management strategies as we emerge from COVID-19 and still challenging environmental conditions.

You can find out more about the board here.

Finally, I would like to thank the local teams for the ongoing professionalism and dedication they have shown across what have been an extremely trying period.
