The Hon. Adam Marshall MP is Minister for Agriculture and Western NSW. He is also the Member for Northern Tablelands.
Minister Marshall was elected as Member for Northern Tablelands in 2013, becoming the state’s youngest member of parliament. He also held the distinction of being the youngest Mayor in NSW when he was elected as Mayor of Gunnedah Shire Council in 2008 after serving on the Council since 2004.
Although he considered a move to the city after school, Minister Marshall made the choice to stay in the country and he has never looked back. His family have lived and farmed in Northern NSW since the Second World War, and he was raised on the land at Gunnedah and educated in Tamworth.
Over this time he also gained experience managing his family’s farming enterprises and establishing his own small business. He has previously worked with many of our stakeholders and has a strong interest in primary industries. As a member of the Parliament he is a champion for rural and regional NSW.
In Parliament, Adam has been a member of the State and Regional Development and Social Policy Committees and has served as the Temporary Speaker. He held the role of Minister for Tourism and Major Events as well as Assistant Minister for Skills before becoming Minister for Agriculture and Western NSW after the 2019 State Election.
