Developed and managed by South East Local Land Services, the project focussed on protecting the natural values of the GBMWHA through the strategic management of pest species alongside the Nattai National Park,

The project has adopted a landscape approach to pest animal and weed management working with adjoining landholders with a focus on cross-tenure pest animal campaigns including NPWS, Crown Lands and Private Landholders.

Carried out to date, the program has delivered on ground pest and weed control on private and public lands covering 40,000ha along with the advice and resources for landholders to manage pest animal and weed concerns.

Suffering the impacts from the devastating 2019/20 Bushfires, and then preceding wet years, the area faced considerable impacts from weed growth and pest animal populations. The funding provided ongoing pest animal control programs in the area to complement a feral pig campaign in partnership with landholders in the Wollondilly River region.

This project is supported by South East Local Land Services, through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program.
