Travelling stock reserves in the North West

North West Local Land Services manages over 162,000 hectares of travelling stock reserves (TSR) for stock movements, from Nundle in the east to Walgett in the west; and Goondiwindi in the north to Willow Tree in the south.

The role of North West Local Land Services is to manage TSRs for multiple users in the common interest of the whole community. We promote a balance of TSR use for production, social, cultural and environmental outcomes and continuously work to maintain and improve the resource.

The 162,000 hectares of travelling stock reserves in the North West Local Land Services region is used for temporary grazing of cattle and sheep. Walking permits and annual grazing permits are also issued via Local Land Services and access is provided to apiarists for the production of honey.
