Healthy landscapes initiative

2023-24 PROJECTS

Central West Local Land Services’ Riparian Restoration Program and Soil and Land Program are seeking locations to develop demonstration sites that will showcase environmental stewardship and how best to conserve our local ecosystems.

Central West Local Land Services will support the development of the demonstration sites through the Healthy Landscapes Initiative funding.

Central West Local Land Services will develop demonstration sites in collaboration with successful landholders, offering technical support for the establishment of demonstration sites and financial assistance to implement on-ground works.

EOIs for these projects are now closed.

The Riparian Restoration Program

This program aims to create demonstration sites to illustrate the rehabilitation and enhancement of riparian habitat along named streams within the Central West Local Land Services region.

Riparian habitat includes land alongside creeks, streams, gullies, rivers and wetlands. Riparian areas are vulnerable and easily degraded.

Assistance and technical support will be offered to eligible landholders to undertake targeted on-ground enhancement and conservation works to support riparian ecosystems and related flora and fauna species.
