Biodiversity and art pop up | Orange

Central Tablelands Local Land Services and Central Tablelands Landcare are hosting a pop up to celebrate the launch of Orange Biodiversity Month and the arrival of the Australian Museum’s Birds of Australia STORYBOX to the South Court at Orange Regional Museum.

Presented on an 3D storytelling cube, The Birds of Australia STORYBOX, brings to life the iconic bird illustrations of John and Elizabeth Gould together with First Nations storytelling and knowledges. The cube will be on display at the South Court, at Orange Regional Museum.

Pop-in to the cultural precinct between 9.30 and 2.00 to watch award-winning pavement artists from Zest Events bringing local plants and animals to life, participate in a smoking ceremony with the Orange Local Aboriginal Land Council and check out the Birds of Australia STORYBOX and get advice on our local bioidversity and threatened species from local experts.

No need to book for this one but contact Vivien Howard on 0439 387 603 if you have question prior or on the day.

Orange Biodiversity Month - Plants, animals, fungi, ecosystems...

Wild and vast or small and special. Biodiversity is the variety of life on earth and it’s essential for our lives.

The Orange region is home to a multitude of landforms that provide a wide range of habitats for biodiversity. During the month of September, we’re celebrating this biodiversity through a number of events for Orange Biodiversity Month. You can sit back and relax at the movies or get your hands dirty planting a tree; there’s something for everyone.

These events have been made possible through a collaboration of local organisations including the NSW Biodiversity Trust, Central Tablelands Landcare, Orange Field Naturalists and Conservation Society inc, Orange Regional Museum, The Australian Museum, and Ploughmans Wetlands Care Group.
