Lighting the Path

New book documents long journey to reignite traditional knowledge

‘Lighting the Path: A Journey to Heal People and Country’ traces the challenges, the joys and the discoveries over the past ten years, as local Aboriginal people worked with Central Tablelands Local Land Services to reignite traditional knowledge and reconnect with their country.

'Lighting the Path' is not a how-to-guide to lighting cool burns, rather it is a record of the learning and collaboration between Aboriginal people and the broader community in search of a better way to rehabilitate and care for our natural environment.

The story has been compiled by key authors Milton Lewis, Michelle Hines, Larry Towney, and Greg Ingram.

This project has been generously funded through the Australian Governments former Caring for Country and National Landcare Program, as well as the NSW Governments Catchment Action initiative.
