Fall armyworm for the North West LLS area

With a dryer start to the year and warmer weather we have seen higher numbers of moth activity in traps for the past couple of weeks. Last year we did see a spike at the end of the season, so those with later planted crops worth keeping in mind to keep an eye out.

  • Since September 2021, regular updates from the Fall Armyworm surveillance program has been rolled out on ground with Local Land Service and consultants to raise awareness of local moth activity in the regions.
  • Farmers should contact Local Land Services for further localised advice on Fall Armyworm management and report detections below.

If populations of Fall Armyworm are above threshold and sprays are warranted, use an IPM approach and AVOID BROAD-SPECTRUM INSECTICIDES.

Always COMPLY WITH LABEL INSTRUCTIONS and in particular, use products only in the crops which are stated on the label.

Please remember THE LABEL IS THE LAW.
