North Coast Support for Tropical Soda Apple Control
03 Sep 2021
North Coast Local Land Services have supported the control of Tropical Soda Apple (Solanum viarum) on high-risk pathways in the Clarence and Coffs LGAs and the Rous County Council area.
This funding has enabled weed officers to inspect and control infestations of Tropical Soda Apple along waterways and in riparian zones below the mean high flood mark.
Tropical Soda Apple (TSA) is an aggressive prickly plant that produces thousands of seeds and must be controlled anywhere that it is found on the North Coast.
With continued funding of high-risk pathways, we hope to prevent the weed's spread to new areas. If you are interested in hearing more about Tropical Soda Apple in the region, check out August's episode of Land Life NCLLS Tropical Soda Apple Podcast
