Smarter farming program seeks expressions of interest for soil testing
04 Jul 2022
Farmers in zones with high risk of acidification are invited to put an expression in for soil testing.
We'll use soil testing on a paddock scale in the topsoil (0-10cm) and sub-surface layer (10-20cm) to measure soil pH and exchangeable cations.
This soils project uses precision agriculture technology to generate visual, colour coded maps which show you the level of acidity in your topsoil and sub-surface layer.
Just imagine, being able to see what is actually going on in your soil. The project not only describes the acidity but provides 3 practical options for variable-rate lime application in front of you, to enable decision-making and change management practices.
EOIs open 9am Monday 4 July 2022 and close on Friday 15 October at 5pm. Round 5 is looking to engage 17 participants in this financial year. EOIs are considered on a ‘first in, first served’ basis.
