NSW Fall Armyworm livestock industries update

This year’s Fall Armyworm infestations have been the most severe to date across Queensland and northern New South Wales due to favourable breeding conditions.

While FAW has become a pest of corn and sorghum in recent years, it is also now affecting some winter crops, including oats which have been sown either for winter feed or hay.

Hosted by Local Land Services, join QDAF Principal Entomologist Melina Miles and Jenene Kidston from NSW DPI Farm chemicals team to learn more about Fall Armyworm in NSW including:

  • Current impacts and extent of the FAW infestation
  • Identification
  • Lifecycle
  • Sustainable solutions and control options for managing the pest
  • Potential activity over the season ahead
