Small grants for environmental and cultural heritage projects

Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 are on offer from Central West Local Land Services for projects that empower local communities to adapt to adversity and thrive.

The annual Resilient Communities Small Grants are offered to community groups for projects that improve community resilience particularly through partnerships and community participation.

Central West Local Land Services Community Engagement Officer Brooke Kirkman said the grants would support projects that could be completed by the end of June.

“We are looking to support projects that focus on practice change such as training or partnering with stakeholders to implement improved natural resource management practices,” Ms Kirkman said.

“Projects by groups which involve rehabilitation, restoration or enhancement of native vegetation, threatened species habitat or areas of threatened ecological communities will also be a priority for the grants.

”Community group projects to protect or preserve Cultural Heritage values will also be viewed favourably, she said.

“In previous grant rounds we have supported events, training days and cultural walks,” Ms Kirkman said.

“The projects need to be able to be completed by 24 June 2022 which makes it an ideal opportunity for those shelf-ready projects, events, site enhancements or training.

”Funding for the grants is made available by the Healthy Landscapes NSW program and must align with the program’s themes.

Grant applications close on Wednesday, 30 March 2022.
