Landcare grants available for landholders, schools and Landcare groups

Landcare funding is now available for landholders, schools and Landcare groups in the Riverina region for the delivery of Landcare projects and programs.

Local Land Services is currently seeking video applications from landholders, schools and Landcare groups interested in applying for this funding.

Senior Land Services Officer, Riverina Local Land Services, Jade Auldist said there are three funding categories available – champion landholder, champion school and champion Landcare group.

“We would encourage all Riverina landholders, schools and Landcare groups interested in receiving funding to deliver Landcare projects or programs, hold events initiatives or services to apply.

“Funding can also be used to purchase or hire equipment or materials and activities and resources that will strengthen Landcare projects or local networks.

“Landholder grants of up to $5000, school grants between $3,000 - $5,000 and Landcare group grants between $5,000 - $10,000 are available.

“All you have to do is submit a 3-minute video telling us about your farm/school, a project you have completed or a project you would like to complete and how this benefits the environment.

“We’d also like to hear why sustainable agriculture, NRM and/or First Nations knowledge and cultural practices are important to you.”

Videos can be made using smartphones, video cameras, image or animation applications. It can be a short documentary, interview/s and/or animation.

Successful videos will be assessed on authenticity, creativity and presentation.

“Riverina Local Land Services would like to recognise and support the important role Schools, community groups and landholders, play in Landcare and help them empower others to act for their environment.” Applications are now open and close on Monday, 5 December 2022.
