Regent Honeyeater Capertee rest stop activation project opening
The area of Capertee has unique biodiversity values and is important habitat for the critically endangered Regent Honeyeater. To raise awareness of the species we have been working with Lithgow City Council, Birdlife Australia, and Zest Events International on a novel project at the Capertee Rest Area - and it's now complete!
In order to speak everybody’s language, and to make the message as accessible as possible, we’ve chosen a mural, soundscape and signage as the mouthpieces for the message.
We’d like to invite you to the opening of our place activation project. There are a couple of different ways you can participate:
- Join us for an informal stall and sausage sizzle between 10 am and 2 pm. You can stay for a long time, or a little time. Drop in for chat with our team and learn about Regent Honeyeaters in the region
- Attend the formal ribbon cutting at midday and stay for a casual lunch in the park afterwards.
Who you’ll hear from
Mick Roderick is a Regent Honeyeater specialist with Birdlife Australia and has an expert understanding of the conservation challenges for the species
Andi Mether is a place activation and visual communication specialist and founder of Zest Events International. She has produced purposeful art installation projects around the globe.
Please RSVP by 8 December 2022. Register for this event.
