Dung beetle program - Merriwa

Local Land Services is rolling out a dung beetle program which will include workshops, field days, citizen science seasonal reporting and a breeding box program. We want to work with the community to better understand which dung beetle species are active across the Hunter and the benefits they bring.

As part of the program, LLS will engage the dung beetle expert, Bernard Doube, Dung Beetle Solutions International to deliver three field days in the Hunter region.
Bernard will cover:
  • The many benefits of dung beetles
  • Ecosystem services provided by dung beetles
  • Dung beetle identification
  • Species of dung beetles found in the Hunter Valley and beyond

Morning tea and lunch provided.
