New leadership for Local Land Services

Minister for Primary Industries, Niall Blair, has announced the appointment of Tim de Mestre as the new Chair of the Local Land Services Board of Chairs.

Mr Blair said Mr de Mestre will lead the Board of eleven Local Land Services regional Chairs in the strategic direction of the organisation, to ensure delivery of local and State priorities.

He brings extensive knowledge of the agriculture sector; having previously held senior positions in corporate agribusinesses Paraway Pastoral, Twynam Agricultureand Clyde Agriculture, as well as operating a family farming enterprise.

“Mr de Mestre brings a long list of exceptional credentials in agribusiness and agriculture that will bring clear direction and focus to the leadership of Local Land Services, Mr Blair said.

“I am confident Mr de Mestre will take Local Land Services to the next level in providing a high standard of quality, customer-focused services to our ratepayers,regions and communities.

“I thank the acting Chair of Chairs Alex Anthony, who has overseen the organisation while the recruitment process was underway.”

Local Land Services provides rural and regional agricultural advisory, biosecurity,natural resource management and emergency management services across eleven regions in NSW.

Eleven Local Land Services Boards work with local farmers, landholders and communities to prioritise regional service delivery based on specific local priorities.

Each region is managed by a local Board; the eleven local Chairs form the Local Land Services Board of Chairs.

Mr de Mestre will commence in mid-February.
