Wild dog information sessions

Landholders are encouraged to attend an upcoming information session to increase their skills and knowledge in wild dog control techniques. Attendees will gain knowledge, training and confidence to quickly, efficiently and humanely control, trap and dispose of problematic wild dogs in their region.

Topics
The below will be covered by Stuart Boyd-Law, Pest Animal Control and Training, and Western Local Land Services Biosecurity Officers.

  • wild dog ecology and biology
  • how to beat wild dogs
  • wild dog control methods available
  • bait preparation and placement techniques
  • identifying signs of wild dogs and travelways
  • use of remote cameras
  • types of set traps.

In addition to these topics, time is allowed for group discussion and attendees to ask any questions.

All sessions run from 9 am to 3:30 pm and will be held on-property.

  • Friday 4 Dec - ‘Tarrion’, Brewarrina
  • Saturday 5 Dec - Bourke baiting site
  • Sunday 6 Dec - ‘Comeroo farm stay’, Yantabulla
  • Monday 7 Dec - ‘Barringun’
  • Tuesday 8 Dec - ‘ Janina’, Wanaaring.

Directions will be provided when you RSVP. Attendees are asked to bring a hat and sturdy shoes. Due to COVID-19 restrictions please BYO food, bottled water will be provided.
