A year on

December 2020

Ken Garner, Manager Delivery Support

This year has been one full of challenges. In the wake of the Southern Fires and across the transition to COVID safe customer service our teams have been working hard to deliver support and advice to fire affected communities.

Post fire recovery

We have been able to implement a number of targeted projects in fire affected areas with support from our investors.

The Australian Government’s National Landcare Program has provided funding via it’s Wildlife and Habitat Bushfire Recovery Program which has allowed us to implement targeted pest, weed and erosion control to protect identified threatened species in fire affected landscapes. You can read more about these projects here and here.

We have started rolling out projects funded by the NSW Government’s Recovering our Regions program. These projects are targeted at priorities in our fire affected local areas. The webpage will be updated as more are projects are implemented. Projects will cover a range of initiatives across pest management, natural resources and agriculture.

The NSW Government’s Supporting our Neighbours project is also ongoing. We have a team dedicated to this project and are keen to hear from fire affected land managers on rural zoned land who share a boundary with public land.

Land managers who meet the criteria are eligible for a one off grant of $5000 per kilometre to replace fire damaged fencing. Payments are also retrospective, so if you have replaced fencing at your own expense you may be eligible for the grant. Please do not self assess, we have a team ready to support you, please fill out the form and we will be in contact.

Our teams will continue to work with our communities to implement these programs and provide ongoing support and advice around our core services.
