Flood Recovery Support for Rural Landholders

A wide range of land, livestock, pest and weed issues continue to impact agricultural producers across the North Coast region, following the 2022 floods and ongoing wet conditions.

Like so many other businesses in the area, the North Coast Local Land Services Lismore office was inundated in the flood and the team have now relocated to the DPI Research Station in Wollongbar.

Louise Orr, General Manager for North Coast Local Land Services, says the team are on the ground across the region and understand the challenges producers are facing.

“I encourage landholders who need help to reach out and contact us.” Louise said

“Our district vets and agricultural extension staff are here to provide support to landholders. We are also asking landholders who have suffered riverbank erosion to contact us to see what support is available”

“We are still here and servicing Lismore. Many of our staff were also affected by the floods so we understand the challenges well.” Louise said.

As the weather continues to pose challenges, Local Land Services is on hand to help landholders to make decisions on how to get through the difficult winter ahead.

Along with the new Wollongbar location, North Coast Local Land Services have offices located at Casino, Coffs Harbour, South Grafton and Kempsey.

“We encourage our customers to contact us prior to visiting our offices and we can provide you with up-to-date information on ways to do business with us and ensure we have the right staff available to meet with you.” Louise said.
