Getting to know the Swift Parrot
Central West Lachlan Landcare in conjunction with Central West Local Land Services are pleased to welcome Matt Cameron as presenter for our Swift Parrot Field trip on Wednesday, 7 April.
Matt is the saving our Species Team Leader, Energy, Environment and Science, based in Albury.
Matt has worked in the field of natural resource management for nearly 20 years, with a particular emphasis on threatened species conservation. He has undertaken research on a range of species groups including invertebrates, waterbirds, reptiles, raptors and cockatoos. The results of this work have been published in national and international scientific journals.
The day will commence at 9am, with a presentation from Matt, an overview of the Securing the Swift Parrot Project from Local Land Services staff and then we will head out to Bumberry Dam to talk further about habitat, undertake a bird count and finish up with BYO lunch.
Note that this is a COVID Safe event and bookings are essential. There will be no walk-ins accepted on the day.
