Livestock Extension Project

The Northern Tablelands LLS Livestock Extension Project provides Northern Tablelands producers with independent, locally relevant advice on how landholders can improve their profitability, production and sustainability on farm.

The project focuses on livestock production systems and looks to provide landholders with information on best practice livestock management and the latest research. The project is also committed to creating links between producers and industry, including market links, opportunities and trends.

Soils Health Project

Soil is a natural resource that forms the basis of productive agriculture on the Northern Tablelands. Our Soil Health Project provides practical, up-to-date advice and research to help landholders improve and maintain healthy soils on-farm.

Landholders can get involved in the project through field days and demonstrations and will learn how to assess their own soils in the paddock, interpret soil test results and manage for healthy soils to improve profitability and sustainability.

Mixed Farming & Pastures Project

The Mixed Farming & Pastures project team work in partnership with farmers and farmer groups to assist them in gathering knowledge to make informed decisions about issues such as managing pests and diseases, improving grazing management and using production systems that improve natural resources.

We offer the latest agronomy research and developments in pasture management and mixed farming so that they can be applied on-farm. The project also works with industry groups such as DPI and farming system groups to achieve improvements in pasture/crop yield, production efficiency and resource management.
