LOCAL INFORMATION & ADVICE WELCOMED
Around 30 farmers and graziers attended an informal drought information session held at The Peel Inn in Nundle on Friday morning.
Locals asked North West Local Land Services officers about livestock nutrition, planning for the winter months and how to manage when the rain does arrive, as well as other questions specific to their business and location.
North West LLS livestock officer, Sally Balmain said when looking to manage drought conditions, planning was key.
"We encourage you to look at your options, ask questions and put together a plan that works with your resources and what you can manage. The most important part is sticking to it!"
Ms Balmain encouraged those who attended to ask questions, not just at events like the drought info sessions, but to contact the team any time with their queries or concerns.
“We’re here to help and we can do that all year round” she said.
More than 100 people attended the North West LLS drought info sessions across the week with the team on hand in Lightning Ridge, Walgett, Burren Junction, Pilliga, Boggabri, Gravesend, Bingara, Spring Ridge, Nundle, and Currabubula.
