Seen this plant? Hudson pear

There are 13 priority cacti species in the North West of New South Wales. Hudson pear (Cylindropuntia pallida) is one of these species. It has invaded over 100,000 hectares in Lightning Ridge and surrounding areas.

Hudson pear has pink flowers and large spines, which can injure people and animals. Download the North West Local Land Services two page fact sheet here.

Northern Slopes Landcare has put together a survey to help them to understand what it is travellers need help with when travelling through cactus infested areas. It will help them to identify what behaviours travellers are willing to do, to help stop the spread of invasive cacti through the North West, bordering regions and states of NSW.
