North Coast Local Land Services supporting Primex 2023

As the region continues to recover from last year’s devastating floods, landholders, primary producers and visitors will be able to access help and information at the North Coast Local Land Services stand at Primex 2023.

Acknowledging the importance of the Primex event to the community, Local Land Services is once again proud to sponsor the event.

Primex is one of the leading agribusiness exhibitions in Australia, bringing more than 25,000 visitors to the area each year.

North Coast Local Land Services General Manager Louise Orr said they have twice the space booked for this year’s event to cater for the additional services and information that will be on offer.

“Given the ongoing recovery by the community we are continuing our strong focus on supporting landholders,” Ms Orr said.

“We will have our team on the ground for all three days of the event providing information and support to landholders who are facing difficult decisions about how to manage their land in these changed conditions.”

The North Coast Local Land Services team has a range of technical expertise and visitors can come and listen to a program of specialist presentations or talk to the team one on one.

“Our What Now? What Next? presentation program will feature a range of talks on animal health, seasonal conditions, biosecurity and, of course, flood recovery,” she said.

“The biosecurity team will be on hand to offer advice to landholders about how to control pest animals including wild dogs, feral deer and pigs, which require ongoing vigilance by landholders.”

The North Coast Local Land Services team will also provide advice on how landholders can better manage pastures and crops and protect the natural resources of their land, manage riverbank erosion and meet their land management regulatory requirements.

“To round out services provided at the North Coast Local Land Services stand, the District Vets will be on hand to help with a range of animal health issues like nutrition or disease,” she said.

To ensure that visitors can access flood recovery information easily, Local Land Services is also hosting several government support agencies including the NSW DPI Rural Recovery Support Service, Rural Financial Counselling Service Northern Region, NSW Health Rural Adversity Mental Health Program and the Northern Rivers Reconstruction Corporation.

Primex 2023 runs for three days, commencing 11 May. Gates open at 9am each day and the North Coast Local Land Services team will be available each day of the event at Site A2/A3.
