Getting down and dirty in the Upper Horton – let's look at your soil

Join us for a soil pit field day looking at soil under pastures and cropping.

Soil is the most important asset you have on your farm. Knowing what soil you have – its characteristics and its limitations are important to how you manage your pastures and crops.

This field day will look at two soil pits under a tropical pasture and under cropping.

Rob Banks, Soil Scientist will talk you through two soil pits and talk about how to look after your soil. We will also talk about pasture management over summer and livestock considerations for the coming season.
